April Update

Hi Everyone,

We hope you had a great Easter. There’s been quite a bit going on in our lives lately, so we thought we’d update you all of the changes. After getting one of the bathrooms retrofitted, we were able to move into our house a week ago! It’s been such a blessing to feel like we’re beginning to re-gain some type of normalcy, even though I feel like it’ll be quite a while before we figure out exactly what that looks like. While our house will be under construction for a long period of time due to all of the other renovations/retrofits that will need to be done to make the house fully accessible, we’re very thankful to have a place to call home.

Call us crazy, but we decided to get a puppy too! And we actually picked her up the day we were moving into our house. We’ve been dying to get a dog since we’ve been married & Kev always said we could get one once we got a yard. He loves BIG dogs, so we got a 9 week old Mastiff puppy & named her “Shorty”. She’s absolutely adorable & will of course be HUGE. It’s been fun to have a little distraction from the mundane parts of life. Since she’ll weigh significantly more than me when she’s full grown, we figured she’d better be well trained, so we thought we’d start early & signed up for puppy training classes starting on Monday ;)

We also were able to get a car for Kev, so now that the hand controls are installed, he is able to drive us around a bit. It’s still pretty challenging to figure out how to load the chair into the car on his own, so he’s still working on figuring out the best way to get that sorted out.

This weekend we’re looking forward to going to the Abilities Expo at the LA Convention Center. It’s basically an Expo with anything & everything accessible that you can imagine from household medical supplies, to adaptive sports equipment, to furniture. We’re definitely hoping that it’ll be an encouraging & helpful time to determine what types of equipment would be best & what types of hobbies Kev will wanna get into.

Thanks again for all of your love, care, prayer & support. We are truly blessed to have such an incredible support system & are so thankful for all of our friends & family who have totally been there for us for the past 9 months. And a HUGE thank you to all of you who helped us move! What a gift to have so many people so willing to help!

Please continue to pray for the swelling in Kev’s legs…this has continued to persist & has not gotten any better over the past 9 months. He also is in pain almost all of the time…shoulders, back, neck & stomach. Please pray that both of these issues would quickly come to an end.

Thanks!

Kev and Tiff
